9.11.2021 today we tried our hand at knot tying in Forest School. We tied clove hitch and reef knots! We then applied our knot tying skills to rescue the people (wooden poles) from the cave (bottom field) here are some of our expertly tied knots

We are celebrating differences in our Jigsaw sessions. This week we played some games that involved us thinking about how we are all different! And, as Albert said, UNIQUE!

Experimenting with the Victorian toys (and enjoying them!!) we are learning which materials were popular and why? We compared similarities and differences between modern toys and toys from the Victorian era. 5.11.21 ๐ŸŽณ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿš—

Traction Man is Here!

Making mops for Traction Man to help keep our classrooms tidy. We investigated which would be the most absorbent and durable material to make a recycled mop. Fleeces soaked up the most liquid and the felt soaked up the least. Tissue paper was the least durable!!

13.10.2021 โœ๏ธโœ๏ธโœ๏ธLook at that writing Year 2! Today we uplevelled our vocabulary using our English wall. Today we described a messy bedroom. This will help when we are writing our own Toy Superhero stories over the next 6 days.

12.10.2021 drawing from perspective using charcoals (another art technique) we really enjoyed seeing how the detail on The Shambles got smaller and smaller as it got further away. This follows our descriptive writing work which will be uploaded once weโ€™ve edited and written them in neat. Did you know it was mentioned in the Doomsday Book of William the Conqueror in 1086!

Finishing off our ordering numbers mini Maths topic with a very active and very tricky Maths trail! The children needed to work together to find the numbers and order them. There was a tricky mixture of: words, numbers and pictures!

7.10.2021 whittling in the woods! Today we whittled sticks before measuring and ordering them. Some of the children also wrote instructions for how to whittle ๐Ÿ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚

1.10.2021 Cubism art! 2D shape faces. We used our previous knowledge of 2D shapes to make our own faces based on Pablo Picassoโ€™s artwork ๐ŸŽจ
