On Friday 17th March Escrick held a Commonwealth-themed team challenge day. It was amazing to see so many happy faces and a range of activities:
Mrs. Robinson taught a Commonwealth dance (This looked a lot of fun!),
Mr. Deakin and Miss Miller held a mini Commonwealth games outside. Despite the chilly weather, the pupils were amazing and tried their hardest with some difficult activities.
Mr. Holtby got the vocal chords going by teaching the song 'Sing! The Jubilee Anthem'. I think we have some future pop stars at Escrick!
Mrs. Peters created posters based on the theme 'A peace-building Commonwealth'. Some brilliant artwork was on show.
A fantastic day was had by all. Here are a few quotes from the children:
Max M. (Year 4) when asked about the day said "It was very sporty and fun."
Dylan added "It was about the Commonwealth and I enjoyed it lots."
Lucy, Fi, Ollie and Faith from year 6 also said, "It's been good fun. I enjoyed watching Mr. Deakin freeze outside when we did the games. The sporty stuff was good. It was good to do different activities
Tillie said, "It's been really fun and I've loved doing the Commonwealth art."
Well done to everybody and enjoy your weekends.
